Future vision for computer

The vision I have for the future of the personal computer would be based on the utopian vision of the previous post and some cool design choices.

Mozilla Seabird

A decade ago, the vision was already made with a mobile phone. The Mozilla Seabird was a vision of the future we have not yet come across. It featured a cool bluetooth device to interact with the phone instead of all these touch motions. Which makes sort of sense and also not. The coolest thing though is the projection. The ability to have a pico projector that shows you a browser from your phone and project the keyboard and mouse on the other side is what struck me the most.

What I envisioned is the following for a personal computer.

Size

The size should be palm sized. Like a Raspberry Pi kind of size. Something that could be easily transported in the pocket of a coat or something similar.

Connectivity

The connectivity should include Bluetooth and WiFi by default.

Input

The input would actually be a projection of the keyboard like the phone but on each side of it. Like at the end of the demo video.

Display

The display would be a pico projector capable of high definition projection onto milk glass or white wall any where there is a room for it. Or connect it to something like what Google Glass was but now thinking a VR goggle to display the entirety on in Virtual Reality.

OS

The operating system would actually only do one thing. You configure it to connect to either WiFi or maybe just have cellular data, and then connect over the wire back to your home to a PC there. You actually interact with that computer everywhere you go. You might even have a bunch of computers you want to connect to. Just like we hop servers to have different functions and have an army of those. You would likewise have the same for your personal setup.

You would take this cube everywhere you go and can do your work things and your private life things any time anywhere. I imagined it to be like getting up in the morning taking your cube with you to a place where it is conducive to a healthy work environment for you and power it and immediately start where you left off yesterday and at the end of the day already make it so you have the ideas and thoughts in the middle of the day ready and waiting for you at home.

Granted something Mozilla made feels a little like the last part, it is Firefox Sync. You can use it to send tabs across to all your synced devices. It feels quite nice to know I can read something on the train and think this is for work and just send it to work and know I have it there to share when I arrive.
